I'm Kimberly Brown; illustrator, author, and artist. 

 

I make pictures and tell stories. Sometimes with paints, sometimes with words. They come on canvas and in books. Sometimes they're on walls or in maps, posters, newsletters, workshops and classes. The stories are usually about nature (the outside kind as well as the human kind), wilderness and the unknowable (both out there and in here) and how the most important things are often the ones we can't or don't see. By telling stories, I'm trying to learn to pay attention and see. ​

Born and raised to legal adulthood in Canada, I'm now based in the Newcastle area (near the ocean, with lots of trees and fresh air) with legitimately my favourite people in the world.  Whenever possible, you'll find me (or won't find me), far away from the beaten path where the world feels open and quiet and wild.
